April 2015 releases! (part 1)

Spring has finally arrived, yay! Even though it doesn't quite look like it just yet, I'm positive those lovely warm Spring days are just around the corner and I can't wait to enjoy them with a good book! Luckily, we are almost at the start of April, which means a new month filled with tons of exciting book releases. April has so much amazingness in store for us, I don't have just one, but two posts filled with fabulous titles to keep an eye on in the upcoming few weeks!

Which releases are you excited about? I'd love to hear from you! If you'd like me to include your book release in this list, feel free to contact me via e-mail or Twitter! :)

Tess Woods - 'Love at First Flight' (1 April)

Looking back on it now, I can see it was instant. The second we locked eyes. Boom. Just like that. The me I had spent a lifetime perfecting began its disintegration from that moment. And despite the carnage it brought to all our lives, I still don't regret it.

What would you risk to be with the love of your life? And what if your soul mate is the one who will destroy you?

Mel is living the dream. She's a successful GP, married to a charming anaesthetist and raising a beautiful family in their plush home in Perth. But when she boards a flight to Melbourne, she meets Matt and her picture perfect Stepford life unravels as she falls in love for the first time ever.

What begins as a flirty conversation between strangers quickly develops into a hot and obsessive affair with disastrous consequences neither Mel nor Matt could have ever seen coming. Mel's dream life turns into her worst nightmare.

Why so excited? --> 'Love at First Flight' (what a great title, by the way) is Tess Woods' debut novel and I'm quite excited about it! I have a feeling this will be quite the gripping women's fiction read and I'm curious to check it out this April!

Cathy Bramley - 'Appleby Farm - Where the Heart Is (Part 3)' (2 April)

Life is a whirlwind of hard work and fun at Appleby Farm, just the way Freya likes it. As her plans for the vintage tea rooms come together, the old timber barn is filled with a merry jumble of teacups and the smell of Auntie Sue’s freshly baked scones.

After a visit from Tilly Parker, Freya is beginning to feel like she’s finally found her home. And a surprise birthday treat makes Freya wonder – has love has been under her nose this whole time?

As the grand opening of the tea rooms arrives, the pressure is on – especially with greedy property developers sniffing around. Then a secret request poses a new challenge, but it might just be the answer to Freya’s prayers…

Why so excited? --> I love Cathy Bramley's writing; her stories never disappoint, so I'm already looking forward to reading the third part of her serialised novel 'Appleby Farm', which will be released on the 2nd of April!

Tess Woods Kathryn Cushman - 'Finding Me' (7 April)

What would you do if you learned your life was a lie?

All her life, Kelli Huddleston has been told the story of a fire--a fire that killed her mother and two siblings when she was an infant. After her father's death though, she uncovers evidence of a different story, including clippings about a boat accident that killed a young father and his infant daughter. And Kelli quietly realizes the story of her life has been a fiction.

How far would you go to discover the truth?

Armed with only a few pictures of what she thinks might be her family, Kelli crosses the country to Tennessee, determined to uncover the truth about what happened over twenty years ago in a small southern town. When the trip threatens to open doors to the past better left shut, and her plans for the future are jeopardized, Kelli is faced with an agonizing choice that will change her life forever.

Why so excited? --> Another exciting release which already sounds like a really gripping read. I definitely look forward to picking this up and getting to know more about Kelli and her story!

Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan - 'The Royal We' (7 April)

American Rebecca Porter was never one for fairy tales. Her twin sister, Lacey, has always been the romantic who fantasized about glamour and royalty, fame and fortune. Yet it's Bex who seeks adventure at Oxford and finds herself living down the hall from Prince Nicholas, Great Britain's future king. And when Bex can't resist falling for Nick, the person behind the prince, it propels her into a world she did not expect to inhabit, under a spotlight she is not prepared to face.

Dating Nick immerses Bex in ritzy society, dazzling ski trips, and dinners at Kensington Palace with him and his charming, troublesome brother, Freddie. But the relationship also comes with unimaginable baggage: hysterical tabloids, Nick's sparkling and far more suitable ex-girlfriends, and a royal family whose private life is much thornier and more tragic than anyone on the outside knows. The pressures are almost too much to bear, as Bex struggles to reconcile the man she loves with the monarch he's fated to become.

Which is how she gets into trouble.

Now, on the eve of the wedding of the century, Bex is faced with whether everything she's sacrificed for love-her career, her home, her family, maybe even herself-will have been for nothing.

Why so excited? --> Oh, there's nothing like a good and fun royalty love story! I love the sound of 'The Royal We' and am 100% sure I'll enjoy this from start to finish!

Elle Field - 'Lost' (7 April)

Arielle is back! OK, she’s not on her way to becoming the next Coco Chanel, her childhood dream, but she is one way step closer to running her very own shop with business partner Felicity.

She’s also planning her perfect romantic wedding to fiancĂ©, Piers, and Arielle is starting to think that she’s finally found her place in the world... Of course life is never that straightforward.

With a new-found foe interfering with her shop decisions, not to mention haughty wedding planners and loved ones facing personal struggles, will Arielle figure out what's important before all is lost?

Why so excited? --> I read and reviewed Elle Field's novel 'Kept' last year and really enjoyed it. This April, the sequel 'Lost' will be released and I'm really excited to be part of the blog tour for the novel that's coming up!

Dorothy Koomson - 'That Girl From Nowhere' (9 April)

‘Where are you coming from with that accent of yours?' he asks.
‘Nowhere,' I reply. ‘I'm from nowhere.'
‘Everyone's from somewhere,' he says.
‘Not me,' I reply silently.

Clemency Smittson was adopted as a baby and the only connection she has to her birth mother is a cardboard box hand-decorated with butterflies. Now an adult, Clem decides to make a drastic life change and move to Brighton, where she was born. Clem has no idea that while there she'll meet someone who knows all about her butterfly box and what happened to her birth parents.

As the tangled truths about her adoption and childhood start to unravel, a series of shocking events cause Clem to reassess whether the price of having contact with her birth family could be too high to pay...

Kate Forster - 'Picture Perfect' (9 April)

Zoe Greene manages the careers of Hollywood’s biggest stars. She’ll do anything to help them – and herself – get ahead.

Actress Maggie Hall has been America’s sweetheart for nearly twenty years. And she’s about to learn that there are two things in life you just can’t fight: growing older and falling in love.

Dylan Mercer – young, beautiful and defiant – has run away from New York to try her luck in Hollywood. She’s not after fame and fortune, though. Dylan’s on a quest to find her birth mother.

All three women are swept up in the search for the actress who will score the role of a lifetime. But ambition and desire can bring out the worst in people. And in a town built on illusions, believing you can escape your past might just be the biggest deception of all.

Why so excited? --> I really enjoy women's fiction novels that focus on several characters and several storylines, that are brought together one way or another. Kate Forster's 'Picture Perfect' already sounds like a novel I will definitely enjoy, so I look forward to also picking up this one in April!

Kirsty Greenwood - 'The Vintage Guide to Love and Romance' (9 April)

Jessica Beam is a girl who knows how to party. Only lately she's been forgetting to turn up for work on time. Or in clean clothes. Down on her luck, out of a job and homeless, Jess seeks the help of her long-lost grandmother.

Things aren't going well for Matilda Beam, either. Her 1950s Good Woman guide books are out of print, her mortgage repayments are staggering and her granddaughter wears neon Wonderbras!

When a lifeline from a London publisher arrives, the pair have an opportunity to secure the roof over their heads – by invigorating the Good Woman guides and transforming modern, rebellious Jess into a demure vintage lady.

The true test of their make-over will be to capture the heart of notorious London playboy Leo Frost and prove that Matilda’s guides still work. It's going to take commitment, nerves of steel and one seriously pointy bra to pull this off...

Why so excited? --> I can't believe how many amazing novels are being released on the 9th of April, and one I will 100% pick up as soon as I can get my hands on it is Kirsty Greenwood's second novel 'The Vintage Guide to Love and Romance.' I loved Kirsty's debut novel 'Yours Truly' and already know this one will be just as amazing!

Lucy Robinson - 'The Day We Disappeared' (9 April)

Annie has a secret. But if she's not going to tell, we won't either. It's a heart-breaking secret she wishes she didn't have - yet Annie isn't broken, not quite yet. Especially now there's someone out there who seems determined to fix her.

Kate has run away. But she's not going to tell us why - that would defeat the point of running, wouldn't it? It's proving difficult to reinvent herself, however, with one person always on her mind.

Scratch beneath the surface and nobody is really who they seem. Even Annie and Kate, two old friends, aren't entirely sure who they are any more. Perhaps you can work it out, before their pasts catch up with them for good...

Why so excited? --> Another fabulous novel which I can't wait to read! I've only heard amazing things about Lucy Robinson's writing and I really think it is time for me to check out what everyone is talking about!

Zoe Miller - 'A Question of Betrayal' (16 April)

Ever since the tragic death of her parents, Carrie Cassidy has drifted on the surface of life - unwilling to commit to anything or anyone, and constantly running away from risk of any kind.

She found herself unable to promise lifelong commitment to the gorgeous Mark, now her ex-fiancé, because her greatest fear is to put her heart on the line and have it broken.

Neither can she fully dedicate herself to her challenging job at Jade, a leading luxury fashion brand, and is now in danger of losing it.

Then, out of the blue, Carrie is contacted by a woman whose husband claims to have known Carrie's mother. Luis Meyer is terminally ill and his dying wish is that Carrie comes to visit him at his home in Lake Lucerne, Switzerland.

Intrigued and uneasy at the thought of unearthing secrets from the past, Carrie decides to finally take a risk and discover the truth about Luis's relationship with her mother. But little does Carrie realise that she is about to unravel a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal...

Kamy Wicoff - 'Wishful Thinking' (21 April)

Jennifer Sharpe is a divorced mother of two with a problem just about any working parent can relate to: her boss expects her to work as though she doesn’t have children, and her children want her to care for them as though she doesn’t have a boss.

But when, through a fateful coincidence, a brilliant physicist comes into possession of Jennifer’s phone and decides to play fairy godmother, installing a miraculous time-travel app called Wishful Thinking, Jennifer suddenly finds herself in possession of what seems like the answer to the impossible dream of having it all: an app that lets her be in more than one place at the same time.

With the app, Jennifer goes quickly from zero to hero in every part of her life: she is super-worker, the last to leave her office every night; she is super-mom, the first to arrive at pickup every afternoon; and she even becomes super-girlfriend, dating a musician who thinks she has unlimited childcare and a flexible job. But Jennifer soon finds herself facing questions that adding more hours to her day can’t answer. Why does she feel busier and more harried than ever? Is she aging faster than everyone around her? How can she be a good worker, mother, and partner when she can’t be honest with anybody in her life?

And most important, when choosing to be with your children, at work, or with your partner doesn’t involve sacrifice, do those choices lose their meaning? Wishful Thinking is a modern-day fairy tale in which one woman learns to overcome the challenges—and appreciate the joys—of living life in real time.

Why so excited? --> I love love love the sound of this novel! The idea of an app that makes it possible to time-travel... Brilliant! I honestly can't wait to read this and am almost certain I will end up loving it!
