Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Books I'd Love to See as Movies/TV Shows

'Top Ten Tuesday' is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. I love making lists, so this feature fits me perfectly! If you also take part in this feature or have any additions to my lists, please get in touch; I'd love to hear from you!

Top Ten Books I'd Love to See as Movies/TV Shows

I love this week's Top Ten Tuesday list! I'm not just obsessed with books, but also especially with TV shows and I've read so many books that immediately made me think: 'Oh, this would make a brilliant TV show or movie!' Today, I get to share some of these titles with you and I'd love to hear your thoughts! Which books do you think would make a really great film or TV show? Don't hesitate to share your thoughts by leaving a comment below! :)

1. Sophie Kinsella - The 'Shopaholic' series

Yes, I do know 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' has already been turned into a film (2009, starring Isla Fisher), but I never understood why they decided to only make one while the series consists of 7 fabulous novels! I still think this would make a great series of films, perfect for chick flick fans!

2. Ali McNamara - 'From Notting Hill with Love... Actually'

Talking about chick flicks, Ali McNamara's 'From Notting Hill...' books would make absolutely perfect romantic comedies <3

3. Cathy Bramley - 'Ivy Lane'

I personally loved Cathy Bramley's 'Ivy Lane' and I think the book would be perfect to turn into a TV show! There is a great cast of characters with a lot of different storylines to focus on... I'd definitely watch it!

4. Melissa Hill - 'A Gift to Remember'

Another novel which I loved from start to finish and which I think would make a lovely film (with a handsome leading man to make us all swoon)!

5. Rachel Hollis - 'Party Girl' & 'Sweet Girl'

Rachel Hollis' book series would make the perfect TV show! There are some great female characters who are friends and go through a lot together... I just know this would work just as perfectly on TV as it does on paper!

6. Claudia Carroll - 'Love Me or Leave Me'

Another book which I think would make a thoroughly entertaining film or maybe even TV show. 'Love Me or Leave Me' focuses on a special break-up hotel where couples go to break-up/take care of their divorce. A great setting for a film/show, if you ask me!

7. Victoria Connelly - 'A Weekend with Mr. Darcy'

I can never get enough of Jane Austen-inspired stories and I would love it if Victoria Connelly's Austen Addicts series would become a big-screen adaptation!

8. Tasmina Perry - 'Deep Blue Sea'

Tasmina Perry's novels always have me on the edge of my seat. I just love her action-filled stories and I think they would make great films.

9. Lindsey Kelk - 'I Heart...' series

I don't even know where to start with this one. Lindsey Kelk's 'I Heart...' series was MADE to be turned into a TV show or a series of films and the day it happens I will be one of the first people in line to see it!

10. Meg Cabot - 'Heather Wells' series

Meg Cabot's 'Heather Wells' series is a combination of detective/chick lit and a series that would also make a really cool TV show, I think!

  2. I wanted to put Confessions of a Shopholic on my list too. I am currently doing a reread of the entire series and it is so good! I didn't enjoy the movie though :/ It would be great if they redid it! :P I've only read the first 2 books in the Heather Wells series and somehow never continued, maybe I should, thanks for the reminder! :)

    1. Ahhh, I really need to pick up all the Shopaholic books as well! I definitely agree, a re-doing of the film and then just turn it into a series with all books as films, haha!

  3. Ali McNamara's books are PERFECT for movies, why haven't they been done yet?! Very much with you on the Sophie Kinsella ones as well, they're missing out with those books!

  4. I watched the Confessions of a Shopaholic movie but I've never read the books, I prefer chick flicks on screen to actually reading them.
