Top Ten Tuesday - Top 10 Books From My Teens That I Would Love to Revisit

'Top Ten Tuesday' is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. I love making lists, so this feature fits me perfectly! If you also take part in this feature or have any additions to my lists, please get in touch; I'd love to hear from you!

Top 10 Books From My Teens That I Would Love to Revisit

I've always loved reading books, for as long as I can remember. I didn't read as much as I do now when I was a teenager, but there are definitely a few books which left a lasting impression on me and those are the books included in today's Top 10! Books I first picked up when I was in my teens and which I would love to revisit one of these days. What are some of your favourites from when you were a teenager?

1. 'Little Women' - Louisa May Alcott

Still one of my all-time favourite novels today; I like looking back at my teenage reading years and remembering how I fell in love with this book!

2. 'The Odyssey' - Homer

At secondary school I did both Latin and Greek and I spent a lot of my time translating and reading Homer's stories. I'd like to go back to the book sometime and read it just for fun instead of for school!

3. 'The Secret Garden' - Frances Hodgson Burnett

I really enjoyed this book as a teenager, but I've somehow forgotten most of the story through the years. Definitely need to pick this classic up again!

4. 'The Babysittersclub' - Ann M. Martin

Oh my, probably my favourite book series when I was growing up <3 I loved everything about The Babysittersclub and I wanted to be just like the characters in the series!

5. 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' - Roald Dahl

Another book which I read over and over again when I was younger and now haven't picked up in years.

6. 'Harry Potter' - J.K. Rowling

Don't think this really needs an explanation, does it?

7. 'Wish Upon a Star' - Olivia Goldsmith

One of the very first chick lit novels I fell in love with as a teenager! I loved this book and it will always have a special place in my heart.

8. 'Anne of Green Gables' - Lucy Maud Montgomery

I loved Anne of Green Gables, and I also remember watching the films or was it a TV series....?!

9. 'Goosebumps' - R.L. Stine

Oh my, the Goosebumps books used to freak me out, but at the same time I couldn't stop reading them. I would love to pick one up and see whether they're really as scary as I still think they are!

10. 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' - Lewis Carroll

Another classic which I first picked up as a teen, but I think I will appreciate this more as an adult, which is why I definitely have to read it again sometime!

  1. Goosebumps were so big when my kids were young. I'm not a scary book fan, so I'm glad I didn't read them when I was little!

  4. These are some of my very favorites! I'm not sure I 'want' to re-read The Odyssey but I think I probably should. I actually never read The Illiad so probably I should read that too. ;)
