1. 'Me Before You - Jojo Moyes
Since I started blogging I think 'Me Before You' is the book most recommended to me by other book bloggers. A few months ago I finally took the time to sit down with it and I now completely understand why everyone was telling me to read it... A lovely and truly stunning novel!
2. 'Pride and Prejudice' - Jane Austen
This classic was actually recommended by my English teacher at secondary school and would turn out to become one of my very favourites...!
3. 'If I Could Turn Back Time' - Beth Harbison
I'd come across Beth Harbison's name quite a lot on Goodreads and several months ago I finally got the chance to read and review one of her novels. I think this was one of the cases where a lot of positive reviews actually resulted in my expectations being a bit too unrealistically high, but I look forward to checking out another one of Beth's reads in the future.
4. 'A Home in Sunset Bay' - Rebecca Pugh
Rebecca is a fellow book blogger and a simply lovely one at that. After numerous positive reviews of her writing from others, I checked out one of her novels and have to admit I also fell in love with her writing style and feel-good stories!
5. 'P.S. I Love You' - Cecelia Ahern
I actually received this book from a friend many years ago, as a present for my birthday. She wrote a message in the book for me, wishing me a happy birthday and telling me how much she loved the book and hoped I would enjoy it just as much as she did... And I definitely did <3
6. 'The Joy Luck Club' - Amy Tan
Recommended by one of my university professors and a really great read.
7. 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' - Jonathan Safran Foer
Of course we also get recommendations now and again that go the other way; one of my friends really enjoyed Jonathan Safran Foer's work, but after reading this book I immediately decided his style just really wasn't for me. Perhaps I need to revisit, but I really did not enjoy this particular read.
8. 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society' - Mary Ann Shaffer
This was recommended by one of my aunts and I loved it so much more than I thought I would; a really great read.
9. 'The Hunger Games' - Suzanne Collins
I've been thinking and thinking about this, but I can't remember who actually told me to pick up 'The Hunger Games' all those years ago... Hopefully I'll suddenly remember one of these days, but definitely a worthy recommendation!
10. 'One Day' - David Nicholls
Another book that was recommended to me by several other readers out there; also not the fantastic read everyone said it was, but I do understand why so many people loved it.
