Exciting Release: 'A Diamond from Tiffany's' by Melissa Hill

It's been two years since Ethan Greene and Gary Knowles collided one fateful evening outside Tiffany & Co on Fifth Avenue. A mix-up with their shopping bags sent each man's life on an unexpected trajectory, and while Gary and his fiancĂ©e Rachel are heading for the altar, Ethan's love life is not so settled.

Rachel dreams are within her grasp; her restaurant is going from strength to strength and she and Gary are set to be married amongst family and friends at an idyllic New York location. But when they arrive in the city only days before the ceremony, Gary seems distracted and restless. Could he be having second thoughts?

Ethan is anxious to see Terri again at the wedding; he truly felt they had something special, and plans to use the time in New York to prove to her that their relationship deserves another chance.

Will the romance of New York and Tiffany's work its magic on the couples once more?

I love Melissa Hill! She's a brilliant author and Christmas wouldn't be the same without one of her stories. This short story collection seems like a real treat and I'm sure any chick lit fan will enjoy this. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy myself and look forward to spending some time with these stories this Christmas!

Review: 'A Gift to Remember' by Melissa Hill (2014)

Darcy Archer works in a small bookstore in Manhattan. A daydream believer, she refuses to settle for anything less than being swept off her feet by the perfect man... literally.

One day, when cycling to work, Darcy accidentally crashes into a sharply dressed gentleman walking his dog. He is knocked out cold, rushed to hospital and the poor pup and a gift-wrapped package are left behind.

Wracked with guilt, Darcy takes the dog and vows to reunite both him and the mysterious gift with owner Aidan. As she discovers this stranger's world of books, travel, adventure and all the wonderful things she's ever dreamt about, Darcy builds a picture of the man and wonders if he could be THE ONE...

But does fantasy match reality? And when Aidan wakes up, will he be the happy-ever-after Darcy's always imagined?

Thanks to the lovely people at Simon & Schuster I was lucky enough to receive a review copy of the paperback version of Melissa Hill’s ‘A Gift to Remember.’ I’ve been a big fan of Melissa’s books since I read ‘Something From Tiffany’s’ a few years ago, and I fell in love with her latest release ‘A Gift to Remember’ when I first saw the absolutely stunning cover of the hardback version of the book which was released in October 2013. On the 3rd of July the paperback version hit the shelves and I was really excited to finally be able to sit down and check out the novel myself, especially after the many positive things I’d heard about it!

Darcy Archer has her dream job working as the manager of a small bookstore in Manhattan, since there is nothing in the world she loves more than books. She might not be as lucky in love as some of her favourite literary heroines, but Darcy continues to believe in happy endings and keeps her fingers crossed for her own. One day when she is cycling through New York in a hurry because she has overslept for work, she crashes into a man who is walking his dog. The man, whose name is Aiden, is taken to hospital and Darcy is left to take care of the dog, Bailey. Darcy feels incredibly guilty and manages to track down Aiden, who suffers from memory loss after the accident. She wants to do anything she can to help him find his family and friends, but as she learns more about Aiden she starts to wonder whether he might be the One for her...

I personally love Melissa Hill’s novels; she’s a simply wonderful author whose writing style I really enjoy, and ‘A Gift to Remember’ has to be my favourite novel of hers so far. I found it incredibly easy to get into the story and to relate to the main protagonist, Darcy. Her passion for books and belief in romance are aspects I share with Darcy, and I really loved joining her on her search to discover Aiden’s life. I couldn’t help but develop a little crush on Aiden as I continued reading and I didn’t want to put the book down before I knew what would eventually happen to him and Darcy. However, there’s also another character who managed to steal the spotlight every now and again and that’s Bailey, Aiden’s dog, who is just incredibly cute and made me want to jump into the pages and hug him over and over again!

Even though some of the descriptions of the story say it is a Christmas story, it is perfect to pick up throughout the entire year. There are some references to Christmas Eve, but I definitely wouldn’t describe it as a Christmas book. Another aspect of the book I’d like to mention because I personally really loved it, is the quotes at the start of each chapter. The book contains a collection of some fabulous literary quotes and each quote fits what happens in that specific chapter perfectly; a really nice touch. ‘A Gift to Remember’ is a novel with a great setting, great characters and a captivating storyline; a magically wonderful and engaging read that is perfect for book lovers and romantics!

Rating:
9,5/10

Weekly Feature: Once Upon a Story...

'Once Upon a Story' is a weekly feature in which we go back in time and focus on a specific novel that was released in the same month we're in right now (in this case May), but a few years back! It can be a women's fiction classic from the 1990's or perhaps a great chick lit read from 2011. I thought it would be nice to not just focus on recent releases, but also take the chance to jump back in time once a week and look back at wonderful reads that have been released over the years!

This week, we're travelling back to May 2011 to look back at...

Doesn’t every girl dream of getting… something from Tiffany’s?

On 5th Avenue in New York City, two very different men are shopping for gifts for the women they love.

Gary is buying his girlfriend Rachel a charm bracelet. Partly to thank her for paying for their holiday-of-a-lifetime to New York. But mainly because he’s left his shopping far too late.

Whereas Ethan’s looking for something a little more special – an engagement ring for the first woman to have made him happy since he lost the love of his life.

But when the two men’s shopping bags get confused, and Rachel somehow ends up with Ethan’s ring, the couples’ lives become intertwined.

As Ethan tries to reunite the ring with the woman it was actually intended for, he discovers this isn’t that easy. Does fate have other ideas for the couples? Or is there simply a bit of Tiffany’s magic in the air…

Melissa Hill has become kind of a household name within the world of chick lit and over the years she has written 13 novels. Today, I'd like to take you all back to May 2011 when one of my personal Melissa Hill favourites was released, namely 'Something From Tiffany's'! I'm sure I'm not the only female who secretly wishes she will receive a blue Tiffany's box someday, and Melissa has managed to turn this into a wonderful tale! Gary and Ethan are both in New York, buying a Tiffany's gift for the women in their lives. However, their shopping bags get confused and this is the start of a truly delightful journey... Definitely recommended to chick lit lovers and Tiffany's fans!

Be sure to visit the blog next week for another blast from chick lit past with 'Once Upon a Story...'!

October 2013 releases to look forward to! (Part 2)

Yesterday I already told all of you about the exciting releases that are coming up the first half of October (click here to see the overview). However, the second half of the upcoming month definitely has some amazing books in store for us as well, including some of my favourite chick lit authors and some festive Christmas novels! Check out the list below; it might give you some early ideas for your own Christmas wish list!

Sue Watson - 'Younger, Thinner, Blonder' (17th of October 2013)

Tough talking, ball busting, TV talk show host Tanya Travis is at the top of her game. For fifteen years she has steered The Truth With Tanya Travis to be a ratings winner, solving the problems of Britain's great drug taking, shagging, DNA testing unwashed. But underneath the designer exterior, Tanya's life isn't so rosy. She is hounded by the press, who are desperate to prove her boyfriend's infidelity, and her closest relationships are with her crazy Brooklyn agent and her sweet faced (but foul mouthed) cleaner. When reality TV show Celebrity Spa Trek comes knocking, Tanya turns them down flat, believing that her image and credentials as the Darling of Daytime raise her above participating. However, she may be forced to re-think when her carefully constructed life starts to come apart at the seams. With her relationship in crisis, her career on the line, and her finances in dire straits she may have to join the desperate gaggle of C-List wannabes trekking round Nepal after all....

Why so excited? --> I'm not familiar with Sue Watson and haven't read her best-selling novel 'Fat Girls and Fairy Cakes.' 'Younger, Thinner, Blonder' tells the story of Tanya, a famous talk show host, whose life is unexpectedly turned upside down, resulting in her joining the cast of a reality TV show called 'Celebrity Spa Trek.' I love the idea behind this novel, and I'm quite curious to read more about this reality TV show and how Tanya will cope with everything (including trekking round Nepal with a group of C-list celebs)!

Melissa Hill - 'A Gift to Remember' (24th of October 2013)

Darcy Archer works in a small bookstore in Manhattan. A daydream believer, she refuses to settle for anything less than being swept off her feet by the perfect man… literally.

One day, when cycling to work, Darcy accidentally crashes into a sharply dressed gentleman walking his dog. He is knocked out cold, rushed to hospital and the poor pup gets left behind.

Wracked with guilt, Darcy takes the dog and makes plans to reunite him with owner, Aidan. As she discovers the mysterious stranger's world of books, travel, adventure and all the wonderful things she's ever dreamt about, Darcy builds a picture of this man and wonders if he could be THE ONE…

But does fantasy match reality? What happens when Prince Charming wakes up? Will Aidan be the happy ever after she's always imagined?

Why so excited? --> I'm a really big fan of Melissa Hill; her books are amazing and I have a feeling 'A Gift to Remember' won't be anything less! First of all, the cover is definitely one of the prettiest I have seen in 2013. I adore everything about it: from the font and colour of the title, to the little couple and trees coming out of the pages of a book... It's simply stunning! Next to that, the blurb promises a brilliant story with a touch of Christmas to it. Definitely a novel any chick lit fan will want to add to their wish list!

Miranda Dickinson - 'Take a Look at Me Now' (24th of October 2013)

Nell Sullivan is having the worst day ever…

Nell has always been known as ‘Miss Five-Year Plan’. But when she’s dumped and made redundant on the same day, Nell wonders if it’s time to stop planning and start taking chances.

Nell blows her redundancy cheque on a trip of lifetime to a place where anything can happen – San Francisco. Nell meets a host of colourful characters, including an intriguing new love interest, Max, and soon San Fran begins to feel like a second home.

But when Nell is forced to return home, will she leave the ‘new Nell’ behind? And can the magic of San Francisco continue to sparkle thousands of miles away?

Why so excited? --> Miranda Dickinson's novels are always filled with brilliant stories that never fail to make me smile, which is why I have been looking forward to the release of 'Take a Look at me Now' for quite some time already! I know for certain this novel won't disappoint and I can't wait to read more about Nell and her adventures in the city of San Francisco!

Carole Matthews - 'Calling Mrs. Christmas' (24th of October 2013)

Cassie Smith has been out of work for a while but she has an idea. Drawing on her love of Christmas, she begins charging for small things: wrapping presents; writing cards; tree-decorating. She's soon in huge demand and Cassie's business, Calling Mrs Christmas, is born.

Carter Randall wants to make Christmas special for his children, so he enlists Cassie's help, and his lavish requests start taking up all her time. Thank goodness she can rely on her loving partner Jim to handle the rest of her clients.

When millionaire Carter asks Cassie to join his family on a trip to Lapland, she knows she shouldn't go . . . Suddenly Cassie finds herself facing a heart-breaking choice that could change her entire life.

Why so excited? --> The hardcover of 'Calling Mrs. Christmas' was released last month, but the paperback version of Carole Matthews' latest release will be available from the 24th of October. I love the Christmassy cover, and the story promises a festive tale, perfect for the colder days that are coming up. I know Carole's novels never disappoint, so I'll definitely pick up my own copy of this as soon as possible!

Nicola Doherty - 'If I Could Turn Back Time' (24th of October 2013)

What if you found The One, then lost him again?

Or not so much lost him as became the neurotic, needy girlfriend from hell. The girl who tried to make him choose between her and his job, and got seriously paranoid about his relationship with his female best friend...

Zoë Kennedy knows she doesn't deserve another chance with David Fitzgerald. But if there's the tiniest possibility of making things right, she'll snatch it. Even if it means breaking the laws of physics to do so...

Why so excited? --> I haven't read Nicola Doherty's debut novel, 'The Out of Office Girl', but I've heard many great things about it. Next to that, I've heard that if you love Lindsey Kelk's novels (which I really do), you definitely have to pick up 'If I Could Turn Back Time' (which has an amazing cover, if you ask me)! The blurb promises a great story about wishing you could go back in time to change your actions, and I think this is something every single one of us can relate to in one way or another. I look forward to reading this and finding out more about Nicola Doherty's novels!

Ali Harris - 'A Vintage Christmas' (24th of October 2013)

Evie has the perfect job and the perfect man, but keeping both in her life has become a serious balancing act...

With the sales coming to a close at Hardy's, Evie must source new stock for the season ahead. Her mind is constantly buzzing with ideas and layouts, so much so that she is forgetting all about Sam.

Can she learn to keep her work separate from her home life? Or will she lose everything...

Why so excited? --> Just like Alexandra Brown, Ali Harris is treating us to a short story eBook exclusive this October, based on her best-selling novel 'Miracle on Regent Street.' Evie is back, and I look forward to seeing how things are going between her and Sam at Hardy's. A brillian short story to get in the Christmas mood!

Be sure to pre-order your own copies of these upcoming October releases on Amazon now! :)

September 2013 releases to look forward to! (Part 1)

Even though some of you are lucky enough to still be on holiday, or might even have a last-minute weekend away booked, summer is slowly coming to an end! September is almost upon us, which means Autumn isn't too far away. I'm already looking forward to sitting inside, getting comfortable on the couch with a warm blanket, a cup of tea, and a good novel! When it comes to books, September has plenty to offer, so be sure to have a look at these upcoming releases and add the ones you like the sound of to your to-read list!

Emily Liebert - 'You Knew Me When' (3rd of September 2013)

When Katherine Hill receives word of an inheritance from former neighbor Luella Hancock, she reluctantly returns home to the people and places she left behind. Hoping for a second chance, she’s met by an unforgiving Laney, her former best friend. And there’s someone else who’s moved on without her—someone she once loved. Tethered to their shared inheritance of Luella’s sprawling Victorian mansion, Katherine and Laney are forced to address their long-standing grudges. Through this, they come to understand that while life has taken them in different directions, ultimately the bonds of friendship and sisterhood still bind them together. But are some wounds too old and deep to mend?

Why so excited? --> Emily Liebert's debut novel 'You Knew Me When' is released on the 3rd of September, and this is a release I've been excited about for quite some time. I was lucky enough to receive a review copy and absolutely loved it. Katherine and Laney are great characters, and the story made me just want to keep on reading, while at the same time I didn't want it to finish. Definitely pick up this novel as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed!

Sue Margolis - 'Coming Clean' (3rd of September 2013)

Eleven years ago, Sophie and Greg couldn’t get enough of each other. A pair of full-time jobs and two kids later, they’re in therapy asking themselves where all the sexy times went. Sophie thinks she knows: They’re buried under Greg’s mess. And even though her slob of a husband tries to make up for his shortcomings by cooking the occasional meal, Sophie is left to clean umpteen dirty dishes.

The last straw is when Greg uses some inheritance money to buy a World War II Sherman tank, which starts World War III in their marriage.

Sophie doesn’t so much surrender as retreat—right out of the relationship. While Greg almost immediately shacks up with someone else, Sophie finds herself facing even more uncertainty due to a job reorganization. And even though she begins to lose her heart to a high school crush, Sophie starts to realize that a shiny new relationship doesn’t always offer the softest place to fall…and she may find self-acceptance and love in the place she least expects it.

Why so excited? --> I'm not familiar with Sue Margolis' work, but I've read and heard that her novels are 'wickedly funny'. The blurb already shows traces of this, and I am quite curious to find out more about Sophie and Greg, and their own World War III!

Victoria Fox - 'Glittering Fortunes' (6th of September 2013)

Charlie Lomax hasn’t seen his brother in years. Cato’s been too busy living the A-list Hollywood dream to bother with the likes of a small Cornish town. But now he’s back. Hollywood and British aristocracy are about to clash, as Cato sets out to claim the Lomax legacy he believes is his birthright.

Unsuspecting Olivia needs a job after spectacularly failing to make a life for herself in London. Forced back to Cornwall, she has no idea what she's letting herself in for by becoming a gardener at the crumbling but beautiful Usherwood estate.

She certainly didn’t bargain on becoming embroiled in the biggest scandal of the year, and not least because the brooding Charlie is a man she can’t seem to stay away from…

Why so excited? --> I love the glamour and scandal of Victoria Fox's novels, and it sounds like 'Glittering Fortunes' definitely fits those two keywords! The clash of Hollywood and British aristocracy sounds fabulous, and I'm looking forward to reading more about Charlie and Cato, and the Usherwood estate (already love the sound of this)!

Amy Silver - 'The Reunion' (12th of September 2013)

They thought they'd be friends forever.

Jen, Andrew, Lilah, Natalie and Dan were inseparable at university, but in the seventeen years since they left they have hardly seen each other. Until Jen invites them all to stay at her house in the French Alps. The house where they once spent a golden summer before tragedy tore them apart.

When a snowstorm descends, they find themselves trapped and forced to confront their unresolved issues, frustrated passions and broken friendships. And as relationships shift and marriages flounder, the truth about what really happened years before is slowly revealed. And Jen realises that perhaps some wounds can never be healed...

Why so excited? --> I just love the cover of 'The Reunion' and I think it fits the story very well, from what I can gather from the blurb. I am intrigued by the idea of these four university friends, getting together again after seventeen years, to see what has changed and what might still be the same. I'm already looking forward to finding out more about these characters and the storyline!

Jane Green - 'Tempting Fate' (12th of September 2013)

When Gabby first met Elliott she knew he was the man for her. In twenty years of marriage she has never doubted her love for him - even when he refused to give her the one thing she still wants most of all. But now their two daughters are growing up Gabby feels that time and her youth are slipping away. For the first time in her life she is restless. And then she meets Matt...

Intoxicated by the way this young, handsome and successful man makes her feel, Gabby is momentarily blind to what she stands to lose on this dangerous path. And in one reckless moment she destroys all that she holds dear.

Consumed by regret, Gabby does everything she can to repair the home she has broken. But are some betrayals too great to forgive?

Why so excited? --> Is there a reason not to be excited about a new Jane Green novel?! Most chick lit fans will be familiar with Jane Green and her work, and will understand why I'm really looking forward to picking up my own copy of this novel! Gorgeous cover, fascinating blurb, and a handsome male character named Matt (a name I've always had a particular weakness for)... I can't wait!

Wendy Holden - 'Gifted and Talented' (12th of September 2013)

It's the new university term among the dreaming spires. The start of a whole new life.

Meet Isabel, beautiful, clever, shy - and leaving home for the first time. Meet Olly, recently graduated, idealistic and a little hopeless, a man whose heart leads his brain and for whom opportunity just hasn't come knocking - yet. Meet Amber, the It girl who is soon partying with the fast set - and no-one is faster than Jasper de Borchy, glamorous leader of the notorious Bullinger club. Meet the grown-ups: Diana, recently divorced mother-of-one, newly arrived in town to take up a post as college gardener - and Richard, the new college head, a widower, a scientist, and as lonely as some of the specimens he captures in his science lab.

The rich, the poor, the shy, the extrovert, the givers, the takers. Meet the Gifted and Talented.

Why so excited? --> It was love at first sight for me as soon as I saw this cover on Amazon. Isn't it stunning?! I almost wouldn't even care what the book is about with a cover like that and Wendy Holden's name on it! However, the blurb luckily doesn't disappoint either, so I am thoroughly looking forward to this!

Melissa Hill - 'The Guest List' (12th of September 2013)

When funny, kind and gorgeous Shane proposes, Cara is over the moon, and can't wait to share the news of their engagement with all their friends and family.

Excitement, however, quickly turns to apprehension when it seems that everyone has a fixed idea of the perfect wedding and offers to 'help' with the planning. With tussles over the ceremony and the size of the guest list, sibling rivalry and insistent in-laws-to-be, Cara can see the vision she has of her big day being ripped to shreds.

So she and Shane determine to make a stand and do things their way. But when they announce their plans for a beach wedding on a beautiful Caribbean island, there is uproar. Threats are made, family secrets are revealed, and things turn decidedly stormy.

Will Cara and Shane manage to overcome all obstacles? Or will their dream wedding turn into a nightmare?

Why so excited? --> To those of you who visit my blog often, this cover might seem familiar. That's because the hardback version of 'The Guest List' was one of my April 2013 picks, but I couldn't help but pay some attention to the paperback release as well! Melissa Hill is one of my favourite chick lit authors and I can't wait to pick up a copy of this gorgeous novel in September!

Be sure to keep an eye on the blog for more upcoming September 2013 releases!

Even though we can't quite count on the weather in northern Europe at the moment, you can always count on lovely writers to brighten up our days with some amazing new novels! Here are some of the releases which I am particularly excited about!

Melissa Hill - The Guest List

When funny, kind and gorgeous Shane proposes, Cara is over the moon, and can't wait to share the news of their engagement with all their friends and family. Excitement, however, quickly turns to apprehension when it seems that everyone has a fixed idea of the perfect wedding and offers to 'help' with the planning. With tussles over the ceremony and the size of the guest list, sibling rivalry and insistent in-laws-to-be, Cara can see the vision she has of her big day being ripped to shreds. So, she and Shane determine to make a stand and do things their way.

--> I absolutely loved Melissa Hill's novel 'Something from Tiffany's', so I can't wait to read this new story. And come on, that cover is just gorgeous, isn't it?!

Jane Costello - The Wish List

There are six months left of Emma Reiss's twenties...and she has some unfinished business. Emma and her friends are about to turn thirty, and for Emma it's a defining moment. Defined, that is, by her having achieved none of the things she'd imagined she would. Her career is all wrong, her love life is a desert and that penthouse apartment she pictured herself in simply never materialised. Moreover, she's never jumped out of a plane, hasn't met the man she's going to marry, has never slept under the stars, or snogged anyone famous - just some of the aspirations on a list she and her friends compiled fifteen years ago. As an endless round of birthday parties sees Emma hurtle towards her own thirtieth, she sets about addressing these issues. But, as she discovers with hilarious consequences, some of them are trickier to tick off than she'd thought…

Why so excited? --> I already made a separate post for Jane Costello's next novel, which revolves around a list of things to do before your thirtieth birthday... Definitely excited about this!

Amy Bratley - The Antenatal Group

Seven months pregnant, Mel is dumped by her partner and is suddenly facing parenthood alone. But at her antenatal class, she meets a group of women who quickly become invaluable friends in the terrifying new world of birth and babies . . . Katy – rich, successful and with the dream husband – has her delivery planned to perfection. But she soon realizes that nature doesn’t always follow suit. Lexi, loud and confident, is coping well on her own. Until the only man she has ever loved reappears at the most unexpected moment. Rebecca is the youngest of the group – not long out of her teens, in fact –but she’s determined to hold onto her dreams, even without her family’s support. Erin already seems to be an expert on babies, but her quiet nature hides a secret tragedy. When you’re contemplating pain relief, birth positions and sleepless nights you really need a good friend – or four.

Why so excited? --> I haven't read anything by Amy Bratley, but I'm always excited when it comes to discovering new authors. A group of pregnant women going through the motions together? I loved 'What to expect when you're expecting'... So, count me in!

Paige Toon - The Longest Holiday

'Don't wait for the storm to pass; learn to dance in the rain…' Laura has been married to the man of her dreams for seven months. But a week before the wedding, Matthew made a terrible mistake. Escaping the humiliation that is now her marriage, Laura is whisked off to Florida's Key West by her best friend Marty. A carefree holiday full of cocktails and fun, surrounded by gorgeous, tanned men, is exactly what the doctor ordered. Distraction comes in the form of sexy Cuban scuba diver Leo. Laura's instant attraction to him knocks her flying, and she falls hard. As the end of the holiday approaches, Laura doesn't want to go home. Is it time to face the music? Or is there more to Key West than a holiday romance?

Why so excited? --> It's Paige Toon. Do I have to say more? I've adored all of her novels so far and I'm sure this one won't be any different!

Sophie Kinsella - Wedding Night

Lottie is tired of long-term boyfriends who don't want to commit to marriage. When her old boyfriend Ben reappears and reminds her of their pact to get married if they were both still single at thirty, she jumps at the chance. There will be no dates and no engagement-just a straight wedding march to the altar! Next comes the honeymoon on the Greek island where they first met. But not everyone is thrilled with Lottie and Ben's rushed marriage, and family and friends are determined to intervene. Will Lottie and Ben have a wedding night to remember . or one to forget?

Why so excited? --> I can't even begin to express how much I am looking forward to reading this. I love everything that has to do with weddings and I love Sophie Kinsella; the perfect combination!

Lauren Graham - Someday, Someday, Maybe

It’s January 1995, and Franny Banks has just six months left of the three-year deadline she set for herself when she came to New York, dreaming of Broadway and doing “important” work. But all she has to show for her efforts so far is a part in an ad for ugly Christmas sweaters, and a gig waiting tables at a comedy club. Her roommates―her best friend Jane, and Dan, an aspiring sci-fi writer―are supportive, yet Franny knows a two-person fan club doesn’t exactly count as success. Everyone tells her she needs a backup plan, and though she can almost picture moving back home and settling down with her perfectly nice ex-boyfriend, she’s not ready to give up on her goal of having a career like her idols Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep. Not just yet. But while she dreams of filling their shoes, in the meantime, she’d happily settle for a speaking part in almost anything—and finding a hair product combination that works. Everything is riding on the upcoming showcase for her acting class, where she’ll finally have a chance to perform for people who could actually hire her. And she can’t let herself be distracted by James Franklin, a notorious flirt and the most successful actor in her class, even though he’s suddenly started paying attention. Meanwhile, her bank account is rapidly dwindling, her father wants her to come home, and her agent doesn’t return her calls. But for some reason, she keeps believing that she just might get what she came for....

Why so excited? --> I had absolutely NO idea Lauren Graham (Hollywood actress, most well-known for her roles in 'Gilmore Girls' and 'Parenthood') was working on a novel! I'm a BIG Gilmore Girls fan, so it's no wonder I am looking forward to reading this!
