Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Rom-Coms!

'Top Ten Tuesday' is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. I love making lists, so this feature fits me perfectly! If you also take part in this feature or have any additions to my lists, please get in touch; I'd love to hear from you!

Top 10 Rom-Coms

I love chick lit and I love chick flicks. If I need a pick-me-up or something that will leave me with a smile on my face, I know that either a romantic book or film won't let me down. This week's Top Ten Tuesday is all about films, and I decided to go with my favourite genre: romantic comedies. As I was thinking of some of my favourite films I quickly realised I really had to narrow it down to romantic comedy films, so not include Nicholas Sparks films (which I love, but can't really be described as rom-coms) and no musicals/doubtful musical romantic films (how would you describe 'Pitch Perfect'? Probably not a rom-com, right?)... So, check out my top 10 favourites below, but be aware, this might have changed by the time Tuesday is actually here...!

Be sure to share your own TTT's in the comments section below; I'd love to hear from you!

1. 'Love Actually'

I think that GIF just says it all, really. No, honestly, if you've never seen this film, please go out and make sure you see it one way or another, because you're really missing out on something pretty amazing here.

2. 'She's The Man'

I love this film; this really is Amanda Bynes at her very best, and so incredibly funny.

3. '50 First Dates'

Such a lovely story and I just love Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore together; this film really has that magic touch a rom-com needs, if you ask me!

4. 'New Year's Eve'

Filled with tons of great romantic stories brought together in a brilliant way... And Zac Efron.

5. 'You've Got Mail'

A true classic <3

6. 'Notting Hill'

And another absolute must-see; oh, I love this one!

7. '10 Things I Hate About You'

My favourite film when I was a teenager and still one of my favourite rom-coms of all time, with a great soundtrack as well.

8. 'Something Borrowed'

An example of a great film adaptation of a great book.

9. 'The Holiday'

Great cast, great story, great film.

10. 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days'

I was really doubting between this one and '27 Dresses', but decided in the end to go with this one because it's got a great story and I really loved it the first time I saw it.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Books I'd Love to See as Movies/TV Shows

'Top Ten Tuesday' is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. I love making lists, so this feature fits me perfectly! If you also take part in this feature or have any additions to my lists, please get in touch; I'd love to hear from you!

Top Ten Books I'd Love to See as Movies/TV Shows

I love this week's Top Ten Tuesday list! I'm not just obsessed with books, but also especially with TV shows and I've read so many books that immediately made me think: 'Oh, this would make a brilliant TV show or movie!' Today, I get to share some of these titles with you and I'd love to hear your thoughts! Which books do you think would make a really great film or TV show? Don't hesitate to share your thoughts by leaving a comment below! :)

1. Sophie Kinsella - The 'Shopaholic' series

Yes, I do know 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' has already been turned into a film (2009, starring Isla Fisher), but I never understood why they decided to only make one while the series consists of 7 fabulous novels! I still think this would make a great series of films, perfect for chick flick fans!

2. Ali McNamara - 'From Notting Hill with Love... Actually'

Talking about chick flicks, Ali McNamara's 'From Notting Hill...' books would make absolutely perfect romantic comedies <3

3. Cathy Bramley - 'Ivy Lane'

I personally loved Cathy Bramley's 'Ivy Lane' and I think the book would be perfect to turn into a TV show! There is a great cast of characters with a lot of different storylines to focus on... I'd definitely watch it!

4. Melissa Hill - 'A Gift to Remember'

Another novel which I loved from start to finish and which I think would make a lovely film (with a handsome leading man to make us all swoon)!

5. Rachel Hollis - 'Party Girl' & 'Sweet Girl'

Rachel Hollis' book series would make the perfect TV show! There are some great female characters who are friends and go through a lot together... I just know this would work just as perfectly on TV as it does on paper!

6. Claudia Carroll - 'Love Me or Leave Me'

Another book which I think would make a thoroughly entertaining film or maybe even TV show. 'Love Me or Leave Me' focuses on a special break-up hotel where couples go to break-up/take care of their divorce. A great setting for a film/show, if you ask me!

7. Victoria Connelly - 'A Weekend with Mr. Darcy'

I can never get enough of Jane Austen-inspired stories and I would love it if Victoria Connelly's Austen Addicts series would become a big-screen adaptation!

8. Tasmina Perry - 'Deep Blue Sea'

Tasmina Perry's novels always have me on the edge of my seat. I just love her action-filled stories and I think they would make great films.

9. Lindsey Kelk - 'I Heart...' series

I don't even know where to start with this one. Lindsey Kelk's 'I Heart...' series was MADE to be turned into a TV show or a series of films and the day it happens I will be one of the first people in line to see it!

10. Meg Cabot - 'Heather Wells' series

Meg Cabot's 'Heather Wells' series is a combination of detective/chick lit and a series that would also make a really cool TV show, I think!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favourite Chick Flicks

'Top Ten Tuesday' is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. I love making lists, so this feature fits me perfectly! If you also take part in this feature or have any additions to my lists, please get in touch; I'd love to hear from you!

Top Ten Favourite Chick Flicks

I love the fact that for this week's Top Ten Tuesday we are given the chance to focus on different stories for a change, namely films or TV shows. I decided to focus on films because I think many lovers of chick lit, like me, are also big fans of chick flicks/romantic comedy films. Next to this blog, I'm also a book and film reviewer over at Chick Lit Club, so I thought this would be a nice chance to also bring the film aspect to my own blog and share some of my personal favourites with you!

1. Love Actually

Described as 'the ultimate romantic comedy' and I absolutely agree. 'Love Actually' is one of my favourite films of all time; it has several great storylines, a brilliant cast, and lots and lots of romance. A must-see!

2. She's The Man

'She's the Man' is inspired by Shakespeare's play 'Twelfth Night' and a thoroughly enjoyable and really funny film. Amanda Bynes does a great job as the film's leading lady and if you're looking for some man candy, there's Channing Tatum.

3. 10 Things I Hate About You

I can't believe this film was released 15 years ago this year, wow! Once again a retelling of one of Shakespeare's plays, in this case 'The Taming of the Shrew', and an amazing one, if I may say so. I still love this film and its soundtrack; a true classic!

4. Easy A

Emma Stone is incredibly funny and I think 'Easy A' is her best film so far. It's a hilarious and entertaining story and a film I can watch over and over again.

5. 27 Dresses

Another actress who is great in any romantic comedy and deserves a place on this top 10 is Katherine Heigl. My personal favourite of her films has to be '27 Dresses' which tells the story of a girl who is always the bridesmaid... Especially the scene with all the bridesmaid dresses is one I'll never forget!

6. Pitch Perfect

I am SO excited about the sequel to 'Pitch Perfect' that is going to hit theatres in 2015. 'Pitch Perfect' is a great mix of music and humour with a touch of romance... I love everything about this film!

7. Notting Hill

A film which definitely can't be left out, a true classic with a brilliant cast.

8. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

The chemistry between Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey sparks off the screen in this film, which has a great storyline and is really funny.

9. Valentine's Day

A lovely romantic film filled with tons of famous actors and actresses. The film reminds of 'Love Actually' and it is just as enjoyable, just like the 'sequel' titled 'New Year's Eve'.

10. Austenland

The last romantic comedy I've watched and one that has definitely been added to my personal list of favourites. I'm a big Jane Austen fan and I loved everything about this film. Not just a great film for Austen fans, but for everyone who enjoys a good romantic comedy!

Which are your favourite chick flicks/romantic comedy films? I'd love to hear from you!
